Think your first step should be to join the Melville club and you will receive a form to fill in and send off the SACU, then you should receive soemthing back from them and you will have to do your training session on your machine, but it is a good idea to choose which class you are going to start in first aswell so you can do your training. A really great class to start off in is the Cb500's ! They are pretty cheap (as cheap as racing can be ) best to get a race ready bike aswell to start off with.
theres probably more information on this link! http://www.sacu.co.uk/road-race/information/
Get yourself along to east fortune at the weekend as well and chat to people in the class you might be thinking of joining !

If you go into the downloads section of the form there is a membership form in there, or im sure you can join through entry central, once you receive your pack there should be a race licence form in there you fill out and get an eye test. send it to the SACU, theres training on every race weekend or you can do a full day at east fortune at the start of each season or at knockhill there is one too

Tony,
At this time of the year, I'd be carrying your membership forward to 2017.
I'll be sending out membership renewals in November. Entry Central membership will go live in December (it's a financial year thing). I should have 2017 licence forms early December too, and will be issuing as they come in. Well, that's what usually happens.
In the meantime, I can be sending you a 2016 Information Booklet, that will help with Machine prep, and getting yourself kitted out.
ALSO, have a look at the ACU Handbook, it tells you the requirements for clothing, and for machine prep. There's a Road Racing section.
